But it has a better story! This is a female octopus with her eggs. Before we got there, she had left the eggs unattended and an unsuspecting starfish was climbing the window toward them (to eat them?). The mother octopus (though they don't think the eggs are fertile) jetted over, pried the starfishes arms off the window with her tentacles and threw it on the ground. I wish I had seen it!

I see octopus tentacles... are the eggs in there somewhere, too?
The eggs are kind of in the middle- they were kind of rice looking with some algae growing on them.
Every time I try to take a picture of an octopus at an aquarium, it turns out like this.
