Doug is worried that Daru feels underrepresented on the blog. This is a picture from Thanksgiving. While we enjoyed having my parents here and eating our Thanksgiving picnic on the beach, it was very windy, so we ate a lot of sand with our food. Daru enjoyed being off leash though and chasing the piles of foam skipping across the sand.
Doug turned 28 last Friday- can you see the gray hairs? He did take some time off from studying to go to his class Christmas party. He is defintely looking forward to the end of the semester.
This is a tri-colored heron at Magnolia Plantation. We have seen great blue herons, snowy egrets, marsh hens, grebes, ducks and ibises before, but never a tri-colored heron. We saw it on Wednesday afternoon on a nature "train" ride. It was pretty cold.
This is a posed picture- I put them together, but they stayed together voluntarily. I caught them later both on the bed...not near each other but in the same space.
We recently acquired a kitten as a pet for Daru. I woke her up from a nap in the sun for this picture. She is a snowshoe Siamese, and we think she is about seven weeks old. We are not calling her by her potential name yet. She may become officially ours tomorrow.
